Located at Tangerini’s Spring Street Farm in Millis, Massachusetts, Sprouts was the first early childhood program of its kind to be licensed in the state. Serving children 3 through 6 years old, our program offers a unique educational experience where children connect deeply with nature, community, and the seasonal rhythms of life.
Our Philosophy
At Sprouts, our guiding principle is to build a lifelong love of learning and to create a firm foundation for successful transition to the child’s next educational stop in life, whether that be homeschool, public school, or any other educational alternative. We do this through:
Fostering Independence
Children are encouraged to problem-solve together, which promotes independence and self-direction. Self-care skills are modeled and children are guided to mastery of important, everyday skills necessary to be a successful learner.
Community
Sprouts is a place where children and families can come together and share in a joyful and special educational experience. Parents and caregivers are such an important part of their child's education, and we want to involve and celebrate your children with you.
Place-Based Learning
Explore and learn in nature through observation, interaction, experimentation, and inquiry. Sprouts provides a setting rich in opportunities to play, create, and imagine.
The Farm and Forest Experience
Our preschool is uniquely situated on Tangerini's Farm land and adjacent to Millis Conservancy land, providing daily opportunities to connect with the farm and farm animals and to explore the forest. We spend our days between the two worlds: observing, learning, and playing.
